Resistance Training
Quantified.

Know when to add weight, when fatigue is costing you, and whether you are actually getting stronger. FORJ Core attaches to machines, barbells, dumbbells and free weights and measures velocity, range of motion and power on every rep, for velocity-based training (VBT), 1RM estimation and fatigue monitoring.

What is FORJ Core?

FORJ Core is a resistance-training sensor from FORJ that attaches to pin-loaded machines, plate-loaded machines, barbells, dumbbells, and other free weights and measures force, velocity, and range of motion for every rep. Data streams over Bluetooth to the FORJ app so you can run velocity-based training (VBT), estimate 1RM, and monitor fatigue on the gym floor instead of in a lab.

Traditional gym logs record load and reps. FORJ Core adds live kinematics — velocity, range of motion, rep tempo, power, time under tension and left-right comparison — so coaches and clinicians can make programming decisions from measured output, not guesswork.

Every rep measured.
Every decision backed by data.

Stop guessing whether a session worked. FORJ turns every set into a clear answer about load, fatigue and progress.

Know exactly when to add weight

Live velocity, range of motion and power on every rep show when a load is moving well and when it is time to go heavier. Built for velocity-based training and load-velocity profiling.

Train hard without wasted fatigue

Velocity loss within each set shows when you are in the productive zone and when extra reps are only adding fatigue, so you can end the set at the right moment.

See progress you can't feel

Estimated 1RM, personal records and week-by-week strength, hypertrophy and power trends show whether your training is paying off, with AI insights after each session.

Compare left and right

Single-side sets are measured side by side, so you can see when one limb is falling behind and track it closing during training or rehabilitation.

Works on the equipment you already use

Attaches in seconds to pin-loaded and plate-loaded machines, barbells, dumbbells and free weights. Move one Core between exercises and gyms with no setup.

Coach clients between sessions

Professionals get a web dashboard to assign programs, review every client's sets remotely and report progress with real numbers.

Objective data for better training and rehabilitation decisions

See how each client is responding, during sessions and between them. FORJ tracks the velocity of every rep, so you can dose each stage of rehabilitation at the right intensity, spot fatigue before it becomes a setback, and make every decision with data behind it.

  • Monitor readiness and progress from rep velocity and fatigue within each set
  • Prescribe the right intensity for the adaptation each stage of rehab needs
  • Flag fatigue and overuse injury risk by comparing each set with the client's own history
  • Make clearer clinical decisions and document the outcomes they deliver
Client Progress — Week 6
Right Quad — Peak Force 87%
Left Quad — Peak Force 71%
Limb Symmetry Index 82%
ROM — Full Flex 94%
Professional Insight

Left quad force deficit at 71% — recommend additional eccentric loading before return-to-sport clearance.

Data-driven decisions for your athletes

Give every athlete the right load on the right day. FORJ tracks the velocity of every rep, so you know how ready each athlete is, keep their training at the intensity that drives the adaptation you are after, and catch fatigue before it turns into injury.

  • Monitor athlete readiness and performance from rep velocity and fatigue within each set
  • Keep every athlete at the right intensity for the adaptation their current block targets, as they progress from hypertrophy to strength to power
  • Flag fatigue and overuse injury risk by comparing each set with the athlete's own history
  • Make faster, better-informed programming calls that improve outcomes
Squad Load Monitoring — Week 3
Athlete 1 — Peak Velocity 98%
Athlete 2 — Peak Velocity 94%
Athlete 3 — Peak Velocity 87%
Squad Avg — Rep Tempo Consistent
Coaching Insight

Athlete 3 shows reduced peak velocity at 87% — recommend deload session or switch to accommodating resistance before heavy loading week.

How FORJ Core works

Using FORJ Core takes four steps: attach the sensor to the load you are lifting, train as usual, view live force and velocity in the FORJ app, then adjust load and volume from that data. No equipment retrofit is required.

Step 01

Attach FORJ Core

Clip our sensor to a weight stack, bar or dumbbell. No setup required — pairs instantly via Bluetooth.

Step 02

Train Normally

Perform your workout as usual. FORJ Core captures every rep automatically in real time.

Step 03

View Analytics

See velocity, range of motion and power for every rep live in the FORJ app as you work.

Step 04

Optimize Training

Use your velocity, records and session insights to pick the next load, break plateaus and progress faster.

FORJ Core vs typical gym tracking

Typical gym tracking records the load you lifted and how many reps you completed. FORJ Core records how that load moved — velocity, range of motion, tempo, force, and symmetry — so velocity-based training and rehab decisions can use the same device.

What you get from a conventional workout log versus FORJ Core on machines, free weights, and bodyweight movements.
Criteria Typical gym tracking FORJ Core
What you record Weight and reps Force, velocity, ROM, tempo, power, and limb symmetry
When you see it After the set, if you log it Live during the rep, then stored as session history
Velocity-based training Manual guess or a separate linear encoder Built in, on machines and free weights
Gym compatibility Any gym, any logbook Pin- and plate-loaded machines, barbells, dumbbells, and bodyweight movements
Best for Volume logging Objective strength, coaching, and rehabilitation decisions

Built by engineers who train

We are 3 engineers who saw a serious gap in the market for accurate resistance training data. Inspired by how smartwatches transformed cardio, we built FORJ Core to do the same for strength training.

Frequently asked questions

FORJ Core is a resistance-training sensor from FORJ that attaches to pin-loaded machines, plate-loaded machines, barbells, dumbbells, and other free weights and measures force, velocity, and range of motion for every rep. Data streams over Bluetooth to the FORJ app so athletes, coaches, and clinicians can run velocity-based training, estimate 1RM, and monitor fatigue without a lab.
Velocity-based training is a method of prescribing resistance-training intensity using movement velocity rather than a fixed percentage of one-rep max. Coaches use mean or peak concentric velocity to auto-regulate load, end a set when velocity drops, and build load-velocity profiles. FORJ Core captures that velocity in real time on machines, barbells, dumbbells, and bodyweight movements.
Attach FORJ Core to the load you are moving, whether that is a weight stack, a plate-loaded machine, a barbell, or a dumbbell, then open the FORJ app and train as usual. The sensor pairs over Bluetooth and records each rep automatically. The app shows live force, velocity, range of motion, and limb symmetry, then stores session history for trend analysis. No equipment retrofit is required.
FORJ Core works on pin-loaded machines, plate-loaded machines, barbells, dumbbells, and other free weights. You can use it for standard gym movements and plyometric exercises, and even bodyweight movements such as pull-ups and dips. One Core moves between exercises, equipment, and gyms with no setup.
FORJ is for athletes, gym-goers, strength and conditioning coaches, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, and allied health practitioners who need objective resistance-training data. Individuals track force, velocity, and ROM across sessions. Professionals use the dashboard to manage clients, assign programs, and review progress remotely.
FORJ Individual is $300 AUD per year and includes the first FORJ Core, with real-time force, velocity, and ROM plus session analytics. Professional starts at $300 AUD per year for 1 client and scales with roster size up to $2,700 AUD per year for 100 clients. Above 100 clients, contact sales. It adds the web dashboard, program assignment, reporting, and remote session monitoring. There is no lock-in; you can cancel anytime. See FORJ pricing for every client cap.
